WHEN THESE MOUNTAINS WERE OURS
Oh, remember when we used to run
underneath the setting sun
And our young, strong leader
would call the pack
saying he found food to attack
Remember when
we had no fear
as we chased lynx
and deer.
We ran together
without a care
wary only of black
and brown bear.
Oh, remember tromping through
the snow
in places no one else
would go
We set out
on adventures plights
and sang together
under the nothern lights.
Remember times before
parking lots and cars.
Back in the good ol’ days,
when these mountains were ours.
