Nature in Alaska

by Kanoe Zantua

The stream flows reflecting crystal light.
A doe lies nearby with her fawn.
An immature eagle learns to take flight
and the squirrels realize winter is gone.
A seal barks at a dog on the beach.
The canine seems to be intrigued by the sound.

Deep in the forest, the she-bear must teach her cubs to eat the sunk cabbage that has risen from the ground.
In the blue-green ocean, the Orca searches for food.
And the King salmon leave in fright.
Soon the sun goes and leaves the land in an eerie mood.
As the wolves begin to sing under the Northern Lights.
